Well, health care is a major issue in Chicago the last time I checked. I mean, give me a break. All the other candidates are just robots doing someone else's bidding. This blog posting was long on wind and SHORT on facts!

Health care is not the key issue in this race, no matter how much the lakefront goo-goos want it to be. The economy is the top issue, probably followed by whether or not the candidates can effectively represent the entire district, not just Rep. Feigenholtz' lakefront sliver of it. Sara Feigenholtz is running in the wrong district. She would fit in very well in the 9th District. However, he hasn't a clue as to how to adequately represent the residents of Jefferson Park, Portage Park, Cragin, Mayfair, Albany Park, Edgebrook, Sauganash, Dunning, etc., not to mention suburbs like Elemwood Park, Franklin Park and Northlake. To be fair to her, most oft he candidates running seem incapable of dealing with the diversity of the district. I choose to support the one candidate that best shows the ability to bridge the gaps between the two ends ofthis district... State Representative John Fritchey.

So fedup dem, your boss can bridge both ends of the district..the hookers and the italian mob. And Street corner girl...we know you are really a man...also probably employed by Fritchey or Quigley. You know what I do notice...Feigenholtz' ads, both TV and mail, are positive pieces. Not once does she slam her competitors and there's plenty to slam. The poll, whoever did it, was factual. Fritchey did take money on two occasions from a mob supported PAC and Todd Stroger was supported by Quigley and he even sent his staff to campaign for him. No mud slinging from her, but F & Q do it every day. Sara is not a ding bat. She works hard for her constituents. She has taken on Madigan, Rod, Daley...everyone, if it was in her constituents best interest. As head of Health and Human Services she is the best to help create a true national health care bill. She also has done great things for the GLBT community. She has truly made a difference and saved lives. I'm voting for her because we need more elected officials like her serving our country and not just a piece of the city.

So if your going to rap Fritchey, use another example, because the ITALIAN MOB only is alive with Chicago reporters and TV.

Whoever wins this race will never vote against Pelosi or Obama. Thus it's a popularity contest. Someone named "Orion" said Fritchey had his support because he was the best looking. Maybe other voters will feel the same.

At first glance, it may seem puzzling that last week's list of federal indictments included the powerful lobbying firm of Ronan Potts, but not the guy who runs the firm, Al Ronan. Ronan's attorney has all but admitted that Ronan is "Fawell Associate 1," who was repeatedly referred to in the indictments of former George Ryan chief of staff Scott Fawell and others connected to Fawell's alleged schemings at the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, which Fawell ran for four years. Essentially, what the scam boiled down to was that Fawell allegedly rigged the bids on a highly lucrative project at McPier.

I have watched with interest various postings on this site and from the past couple of weeks it appears that only about 4 or 5 people actually are posting: 1. Frank Coconate - who appears to have sexuality issues 2. Orion or his/her various incarnations - who loves Mayor Daley and seems to be able to get a rise out of the other 3 posters 3. Someone who does not like incumbents but cannot think of a way to beat them other than undemocratic term limits 4. McDonohue - someone, from what I can tell who works for the City and lives in the suburbs. 5. Ben/Mick - writers who sock-puppet the site. No wonder the paper is at risk of going under.

Just watched Trib editorial board programming. What a treat. The Wednesday group was far better than the tier one Thursday group. THURSDAY Figenholtz came off as a big boob. No way she'll get the endorsement. She came off dumb and a liar. As expected, the attorneys in this group turned it into a arguement. There were no winers but Fritchey came out a loser. O'Connor looked like the jerk he is. The professor was like Jerry Lewis the Nutty Professor. Geohagen not only acted Goofy, he actually liked like Goofy. Maybe Quigley looked best by default. The non-politicians on Wednesday were so much better. These candidates are much more sincere. Maybe Dr. Victor and Mrs. Donateli talked to much. Capareli Breyers and Dr. Carlos were the most direct with their answers. Again no winners but I think Breyers and Capareli were the most concise and direct. Quigley wins best dressed.
