No one at the Sun-Times gets to complain about pandering ever, ever again

Posted by Whet Moser on Fri, Jun 6, 2008 at 1:09 PM

The Sun-Times is like this-close to just taping dollar bills to the front page.

The online feature about hot fans (sorry, no link) is actually kind of creepy--nameless young women photographed by nameless photographers, and I doubt all the latter know all of the former. I would be lying if I said I was immune to photographs of pretty girls, but the whole thing feels kind of sketchy and stalkerish.* Didn't get far enough into the pics to see if any of the submissions of handsome young men, which is allegedly an option, actually made the cut. I'll be surprised.

*I have mixed feelings about street photography w/r/t invasion of privacy (I have a phobia about having my picture taken), but generally speaking I'll allow well-intentioned hobbies and arts some leeway. The above just seems loutish.

Well, so far on their website they only have photos of Cubs fans (mostly female with a couple of guys thrown in), so it's kind of a lopsided contest. Which means either Sox fans couldn't be bothers or other than the woman on the front page, there are no other "hot" Sox fans. But I beg to differ...

I can't wait for the S-T's "Who's Hotter? US Troops or Iraqi Insurgents?" promotion. -- SCAM so-called "Austin Mayor" http://austinmayor.blogspot.com

The lack of pictures of Sox fans probably has more to do with the reasons their respective fans go to the ball parks than anything else.

Interesting. Say more about this "privacy," in particular where I can get some. Does it work on the CTA?
