This Sunday at 3 PM Facets Cinematheque will host a Cinechat with Jonathan Rosenbaum on the occasion of his departure from the Reader. Too late—he's back! The new issue, posted online Thursday, features Jonathan's four-star review of Alain Resnais' Last Year at Marienbad. On Saturday he'll speak about the film at Music Box between the 2:45 and 5 PM screenings. And if you hustle you can still make it to his 6 PM lecture at Film Center on Jacques Tati's Playtime; it concludes his course "The Great Transition: World Cinema in the 1960s."

It has me wondering about the expression (surprise? a response to the brightness of a flash?). Not all captured expressions do that. The thumbnail seems to have cast even more light on his face, so perhaps the latter, if we are going to discuss the photo?

The cap Rosenbaum wrote about the last Indy outing says basically that it doesn´t suck! Hurry for guilty pleasures like this one! Thanks Jonathan, you made a boy (me) and his fater a great favour (together at the cinema as we did so many years ago).

But after watching the thing I must say: let the "cinema of attractions" be IMAX and 3-D, because this Indy is not cinema nor vaudeville.
