I am dissapointed that Mariyana Spyropoulos did not win a seat on the Metro Water Board, she could have really cleaned up things along with Deb Shore. This is very simple why 12 was chosen over 11. Water Rec Commissioners are elected for six year terms: 12 + 6 = 18 (voting age) The Commissioners can afford to piss off the 11 and younger constiuency, because mathematically they will not have an opportunity to retaliate against any one Commissioner in time for their next election. But a 13 or 14 year old who otherwise couldn't ride the float may hold it against the Commissioners in the voting booth. Once again, elected officials are putting themselves ahead of the safety of the public. I believe, just like drinking, you should have to be 21 to ride a parade float!

The format sucks, Frank, IF what you really want is to encourage open discourse. Patrick's site is a bit more open, but still leaves much to be desired. At least on Pat's site, one can submit a comment without jumping through so many hoops, albeit Pat has decided to preemptively screen comments. Why don't both you guys implement a format duplicating this site's format? Or is open commentary not high on your list of priorities?

You might get more than "...All I get is insults..." if your site attracted visitors other than the scum who 'post stupid'. To attract actual interest in your site, and in your efforts to change and improve our city and county governments, you have to provide the very things you claim you support. When your site talks about open and honest participation of the citizens, then provides no means for those visiting your site to engage in open and honest discourse, you look like just another bullshit artist.
