Coworkers

In her campaign for state's attorney, Anita Alvarez has played up her 20-plus years of experience as a prosecutor while trying to differentiate herself from the style and record of her boss, current state's attorney Dick Devine. She's at it again in today's Sun-Times, criticizing Devine and his top assistant, Robert Milan, one of her election opponents, for failing to charge a cop with a felony after he beat a man in a wheelchair -- the latest apparent example of police misconduct caught on tape and released to the public.

Alvarez has been the number three prosecutor in the state's attorney's office for the last several years, but in a recent interview she was even more blunt (brutal?) about how she thinks she stands apart from Devine and Milan. "I do distance myself [from them]. I recognize changes that should be made within our office. And I think that’s the difference between the first assistant and I."

In case it wasn't clear enough, she added: "It's time for a change. It’s time to have someone in there who’s honest and has integrity."

Which made me wonder: How do these people work together any more?

"I've taken a leave of absence," Alvarez said.

I wonder what might happen if the Democratic candidate for Cook County State's Attorney were to be Anita Alvarez and the Republican candidate were to be Tony Peraica? Both candidates appear to be willing to investigate, indict and prosecute the criminal acts that Devine and Milan have failed to show any interest in. Democrat Alvarez vs Republican Peraica Now, THAT would be a contest worth participating in, for all citizens to cast their votes in.

Are making Tony Peraica more superior than Jesus Christ, He is FAR from that. Especially when he defends a case of some ruffian slashing the nun's tires. OH!!!!, To top it off!!!!!. The ruffian calling Liz Gorman a c*nt. Idiots.

Actually, you are both the idiot and the scammer, trying to portray one thing as another. Peraica isn't being seen as 'Jesus Christ', but as an individual who can be depended upon to pursue political corruption within the Crook County Democratic Machine. Whether he is also a person who will pursue similar corruption within the Republican Party is a fair question, but, since Crook County's many problems stem primarily from the criminal activities of the Democrats, a thorough cleansing of these corrupt individuals is a good beginning. Would Alvarez, if elected, be as fervent, in the pursuit of justice, as Peraica will be? Perhaps. If she is, as she's stated, an honest person, free from any obligations to the party criminals she would be empowered to pursue, then the only element that Peraica has, that she does not, is his history of opposing corruptions committed by Democrats. Alvarez has spent her entire career working under the control of the Democrats. Peraica, for all his faults, has not. Pit Peraica against the Crook County Democratic Machine, with the powers and authorities of the States Attorney's office, and see what he can do.

She sounds like a disgruntled, soon to be former, employee. If things were so bad, why did she silently collect paychecks for the last several years and not come forward to the media (or quit her job) about her boss and Milan, whom she is now singing like a carnary ? She is a hypocrite.

Funny how Alvarez is trying to distance herself from Devine at the same time she highlights her relationship with him on her campaign website. I would have had more respect for her if she would have made these criticisms of her boss publicly before the cop was allowed to plead to a misdemeanor. Or at least with the first year after the plea. Waiting until after the Suntimes runs a story to "find her voice" seems a bit unbelieveable.

not impressed has a point. Would Alvarez be portraying herself as someone who would clean things up at the State's Attorney's office if Devine had endorsed her intead of Milan? We need someone who will make sure the turn a blind eye to police corruption and torture that has been the hallmark of "Lap Dog" Devine is tossed out with him. Among the Democrats, that candidate is 21st Ward Alderman Howard Brookins, Jr. Perhaps that is why the Illinois Committee for Honest Government has endorsed Brookins.

These Democrats are really something else, especially Milan, Suffredin and Allen, the Three Stooges wannabees. Milan has the FOP touting for him, claiming, in his commercial, that ALL 10,000 CPD officers are 'behind' his candidacy. What a crock. Suffredin, with his badly fit toupee, has the gall to brag about his 'efforts' to ban 'assault weapons' and promises to rid Crook County of gun shops, like that's gonna magically make everybody soooooo much safer...... Allen's tv ad is more interestingly deceptive. In it, he has an elderly white lady actually saying that she's grateful that Allen paid attention to her, in this perhaps fictitiously embellished little fable, amazingly 'cared' about her concerns, despite her self-proclaimed status of being a 'nobody', and, being that she's someone who doesn't 'know' anyone, why, Allen is just this wonderful fellow, to be so generous with his precious time, to 'bother' with her interests. Unfucking believable. Allen's ad shows clearly the contempt in which he holds the voters of this city and county. Are we to assume, and accept, as undeniable fact, that we are all unworthy of having our concerns considered, all but those who 'are somebody' and 'know somebody'? Are we all to never question an alderman's being 'too busy' to, as a matter of routine, actually do the work for the money that we pay him? Are we to meekly accept, nay, embrace, the concept that, if we're 'nobody dat nobody sent', we're shit outa luck? Are we to believe this shit, about how we should be sooooooo grateful, that our alderman has taken the time to 'listen' to our pathetic, undeserving complaints, let alone miraculously do something to assist us, us being all we low-life commoners? Allen's arrogant ass shows itself at the end of this ad and smugly mutters that he'd 'appreciate' our vote. What a jagoff. As for Brookins and Brewer, the Beavers Twins, no comment is needed. Alvarez, while borderline fuckable, isn't likely to have the balls to go after the corruption that we, the citizens of Crook County, need our State's Attorney to be dedicated to going after. She's worked her entire career under the thumbs of Daley's hack Devine, so there's no reason to think she'd do anything but maintain the status quo concerning Daley's free pass policy for criminal Democrats. Peraica is the only choice, for those who have grown weary of waiting for the Feds to do their fucking job and indict these motherfuckers already. Peraica really hates these cocky motherfuckers, from 'Dum Dum' Daley, Mike 'da Mick' Madigan, 'Bullshitter' Burke, et al, to 'Simple' Stroger, 'Big Hog' Beavers, Jesse 'the Jagoff' Jackson Jr., 'Easy' Emil Jones, et al, he hates them all. What more motivated person could we want as our State's Attorney? The Republicans see this clearly, thus, no challengers for this office in the Republican Primary. No matter which piece of shit the Democrats put up, Peraica is the guy to put in this office, hands down. The only other thing is, which Democrat will be the weakest candidate? I'm voting in the Democratic Primary, just to try to ensure that only weak Democratic candidates make it to the General Election.

FWIW that picture of devine on alvarez' website was when he said he was going to stay neutral and he was going to both Alvarez and Milan's fundraisers. When Milan's candidacy hit a brick wall, which it seemed to do every time he opened his mouth, Devine threw him a mercy endorsement. As for Alvarez disagreeing with Milan and Devine over the years, did any of you ever disagree with your boss? Did you quit your job over it when you did? Maybe she got outvoted by them over some of these cases. She used to work in the Public Integrity Unit and he has no qualms about charging cops. She was fed up and her running for this office now is how she's dealing with it. And she did not spend her entire career in Devine's adminstration either, get your facts straight. My vote is going to Alvarez, BECAUSE of Dick Devine.

A fair observation. Probably as accurate an assessment as possible. And, Alvarez does seem to be the best candidate for the job, were the job to be located in a county not infested with a generations old, corrupted political machine, commonly known as the Crook County Democratic Party, nor within a county similarly infested with a generations old, corrupted Republican Party political machine. We are cursed with having both political party corrupted machines, albeit the Democratic one is locally much larger, and, thus, does much more harm. If there were any indications, whatsoever, that Alvarez would, or could, aggressively pursue investigations, indictments, prosecutions and convictions against ALL criminal frauds being perpetrated on the citizens of Cook County and the City of Chicago, regardless of their party affiliations, she might be the person to elect as our next County State's Attorney. What Alvarez lacks is the inherent desire to root out corruption with the passion a foxhound brings to the hunt. Peraica has that passion, that essential desire to, at the very least, chase down every last Democratic politician who has ever engaged in committing, or conspiring to commit, the multitude of frauds on the taxpayers of this county. The politicians of both parties, the Democrats and the Republicans, have used the 'divide and conquer' method to deny the citizens dependably and consistently honest governments. It's time for the voting public to use this strategy to divide and conquer corruption in governments, by putting a Republican State's Attorney on the trail of the Democratic foxes, if only for a single term in office. Think about it. If the Democrats gain the White House, do you really think that the next US Attorney is going to be pursuing corrupt Democrats? In an balanced world, we'd have a viable third choice for the Crook County State's Attorney's office, one neither a Democrat nor a Republican. We do not, at this time, live in a balanced world. All that we are left with is to seek to throw the Democrats' money-taking machine out of balance, by throwing the monkey wrench, that Peraica will no doubt prove to be, into the Democrat's corruption machine's gears. That's why I'm going to be voting for Peraica in the General Election. And why I'll be voting for Alvarez in the Democratic Primary, with the hope that she'll be the Democratic candidate, though, it doesn't appear to really matter who the Democrat's run for this office, they all are unlikely to pursue corruptions within their own party's ranks. Milan is Devine's bastard offspring. (or clone, if you prefer) Allen is a sitting rubber stamp alderman. (need I say more?) Brewer is the shill, there to draw black votes from every other candidate but Brookins. Brookins is the black faction of the Democratic Party's hope at keeping their own corrupt members out of prison. Suffredin is serving the same purpose for a competing segment of the 'white' Democrats. Alvarez is the only Democratic candidate who appears to have less of a cynical agenda, but, it remains to be seen what she really is intent on doing, if she were to succeed in becoming our next State's Attorney. Peraica is certifiably the only candidate who will do what we citizens so desperately need be done, namely, hunt down corruption in our City and County governments. Whether he focuses primarily on corrupt Democrats or includes corrupt Republicans in his efforts, anything he does will be to benefit of the citizens, except, of course, those citizens who have, are and plan to commit the kinds of criminal acts that are bleeding the taxpayers into poverty.

Yeah, we know Peraica ain't Jesus, we don't want Jesus as our next Crook County State's Attorney, as Jesus would turn the other cheek, and that's not what we want our next State's Attorney to do, not by a long shot. Instead, we want someone who'll be dedicated to doing what even the Feds can't, or won't, do, that being to track down every last thieving rascal, no matter who he/she may be, and investigate, indict, prosecute, convict and see sentenced the many thieves infesting our city and county governments, be they Democrats or Republicans, public office holders, or their contributors, supporters, contractors, employees, hired consultants, family members and/or anyone else participating in the multiple thefts by frauds the Feds seem unable, or unwilling to bring to justice. Yes, we KNOW Peraica ain't Jesus, that's what makes him the perfect choice for Crook County State's Attorney. And, yes, we also know that you know Peraica ain't Jesus and you know why you'd prefer someone like Peraica doesn't get to be the next Crook County State's Attorney. It's because you don't like wearing orange jumpsuits. Look on the bright side. Your vacation will be paid for by the taxpayers. So you won't feel things are all that different.

Okay. It's been fun, but it's time for the grown-ups to suspend your Internet access for awhile. Just until you work through those emotional disturbances that have been plaguing you for most of your life. And an adjustment in your medications seem to be appropriate at this time. A good piece of advice, which you will not take, is for you to stop putting words into your own mouth, along with whatever else you've been putting into your mouth that results in your being so disagreeable. It's not like you haven't had plenty of time to sock away a little nest egg, for that rainy day that's fast approaching your world. Breathe, slowly and with focus, so you can slow down your heart rate and reduce your blood pressure. 'Cause it can't be healthy for you, to continue on the path you've chosen to travel.

Remember this, the Cook County State's Attorney is also the Chief Legal Advisor to all Cook County. This makes Anita Alvarez de-facto Chief Legal Advisor to Todd Stroger all thru his disgraceful Tax & Spend administration. Making Tony Peraica Chief Legal Advisor to Todd Stroger [with subpoena power] is well worth electing Peraica this November.
