Fred Armisen, master of drum humor

Posted by Peter Margasak on Thu, Oct 18, 2007 at 7:25 PM

Saturday Night Live cast member Fred Armisen, who started in showbiz as the drummer for Trenchmouth, has played several drummer characters in his comedy career, including what may still be his most successful one, Ferecito. Recently he's added another to the repertoire: tomorrow night he’ll appear on the Jimmy Kimmel show, sitting in with the house band Cleto & the Cletones, as Jens Hannemann, an instructor in “complicated drumming technique.” Hannemann's drum instruction DVD will be issued by Drag City on Tuesday, October 23.
