You know, I never had much of an opinion about her either way, but watching her debate on Sunday morning, I came to the conclusion this is one of the most obnoxious humans on the planet. she just can't shut up - she interrupted both Dowell and the reporter moderating (NBC, I think) constantly. Tillman seems to have an overall problem with LISTENING - not a good trait for a politician.

I am glad that the reader is paying the only attention to our cities local races while the Sun-Times and Tribune seem to act the same way as these arrogant public servants (They will decide what is news worthy – not the readers who will live with the consequences for the next four years.) I don't live in the 2nd Ward, and wouldn't on a bet. However, many years ago, I had cause to read the U.S. Circuit Cout of Appeals' decision in Stevens v. Tillman, 855 F.2d 394 (7th Cir. 1987). If you're one of the two or three remaining literate Chicagoans that doesn't consider Dorothy Tillman a major civic embarassment, her conduct outlined in the decision will change your mind.

The 'Hat' has a long history of acting 'mannish', it's what's gotten her all she has. If enough voters still believe in uncivil-disobedience, they'll keep her, hat, mouth and all. If they review her accomplishments as alderman, or lack of same, they may decide that her aldermanic history has been less helpful than her earlier activism. Whatever the outcome, one thing we can be sure of is that Tillman has taken excellent care of her own interests. Those hats don't come cheap.

There is only one Tillman on payroll... there are at least 4 other food venders tha are used... and I know my $h!t... nepitism is only wrong in the black community. I was there when ground was being broken for the Harold Washington Cultural Center, back when Lou Rawls's name was supposed to be on the front. I was there when she killed Gerri's Palm Tavern. I was there when she ushered over 500 residents out of the Rosenwald building on 47th and Michigan, declaring it uninhabitable when it was NOT. How do I know? BECAUSE MY MOTHER AND I WERE LIVING THERE AT THE TIME. When I was a reporter for the Chicago Defender this broad called my desk to curse me out for linking her to a black reparations group, KNOWING that she was in cahoots with 'em. This is not only a woman without integrity, this is a woman without honor or a good dictionary, and the fact that the city's black elite are endorsing this poor excuse for a politician makes my stomach turn. I hope that the residents of the 3rd Ward--whatever's left of them--will pull the lever for Pat Dowell tomorrow.
