Reader's Agenda Tue 5/13: Bob Eisen, The Kill Team, and Wye Oak

Posted by on 05.13.14 at 06:05 AM

Looking for something to do today? Agenda's got you covered.

Links Hall cofounder Bob Eisen split for NYC in 2000 and for the past six years has divided his time between New York and Russia. Tonight he’ll make his first appearance at the performance studio’s new location, where he and Kristina Isabelle present a duet created in Russia, recreated in New York, and now re-recreated for Chicago.

Tonight Gene Siskel Film Center screens The Kill Team, Dan Krauss's documentary about Adam Winfield, who was himself put on trial for war crimes after exposing the activities of his fellow soldiers. A discussion with defense attorney Eric Montalvo and Human Rights Watch advocate Andrea Prasow follows the screening.

Baltimore duo Wye Oak stop by the Metro tonight. In Soundboard Miles Raymer writes that their latest album, Shreik, "ditches guitars for synths and abandons rootsiness in favor of gauzy electronic textures and dance-inflected rhythms—it borrows from old Kate Bush and Siouxsie & the Banshees records, not to mention contemporary artists like Grimes who've been reviving that style."
