Looking for something to do today? Agenda's got you covered.

Tonight at the Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art, 2013 Best of Chicago winner for Best Theatrical Use of Unruly Facial Hair, Hans Fleischmann, directs the premiere staging of Darger and the Detective, a play based on the BBC radio thriller that follows a police detective's investigation of real-life outsider artist Henry Darger. Darger, the first stage play written by journalist and veteran BBC radio host Judith Kampfner and Fleischmann's first production since his 2012 revisionist staging of The Glass Menagerie, features members of the Steppenwolf Ensemble. A Q&A and a showing of Darger's art follows.

Not a lot about Easter makes sense. After a few centuries of input from Lutherans, pagans, and marketing executives, we're stuck with imagery that could've been conjured up more easily by a standard acid trip: bunnies toting around baskets with colorful, candy-filled eggs to hide for sugar-addled children. The Chicago Park District has elected to add to the confusion with an underwater (!) egg hunt today at Sheridan Park's indoor pool. (Can bunnies even swim? Yes. Poorly.) Landlubbers can also drop in for the annual Egg-stravaganza hunt and festival tomorrow at Soldier Field. Visit chicagoparkdistrict.com for more Easter events.

Dean Wareham (Galaxie 500, Luna, Dean & Britta) has been performing dreamy guitar pop since the Reagan administration, but his recent self-titled album is his first solo LP. Songs from that record follow songs from his "strummy, sleepy" period tonight at the Old Town School of Folk Music's Maurer Hall. After his solo show at 7 PM, Wareham's wife and Dean & Britta bandmate, Britta Phillips, joins him for a 10 PM show that focuses on the Galaxie 500 songbook. See Soundboard for more. Advance Base opens.
