Looking for something to do today? Agenda's got you covered. Just don't blame us if you freeze to death.

These days, 20 degrees might as well be a heat wave, so why not take a dip in Lake Michigan with Rahm Emanuel and Jimmy Fallon? The annual Polar Plunge, which benefits Special Olympics Chicago, is happening this morning at North Avenue Beach. You may lose feeling in your extremities, but at least you're doing something charitable.

Sick of watching the glamorous Oscar red-carpet arrivals while you sit on your couch in sweatpants? Logan Theatre is hosting the Golden Gala, an Oscar-screening party with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and you in your fanciest attire. You could even win your own award for best dressed. The Siskel Center is also hosting its annual viewing party, Hollywood on State.

Indulge your inner child at the High Wheeler Train Show in Palatine today. The event features 20 different model railroads of every shape and size, as well as a few of the model masters, who are on hand to demonstrate their technique and answer questions.

For more on these events and others, check out the Reader's daily Agenda page.
