Looking for something to do today? Agenda's got you covered:

A not-for-profit event "established to celebrate and encourage the work of independent filmmakers from around the globe," the Peace on Earth Film Festival, which begins tonight at the Chicago Cultural Center, features documentary and narrative films that promote themes of peace and social justice.

"Race, Representation, Resistance: Cultural Criticism in the Digital Age," which takes place at DePaul University's Cortelyou Commons, features three speakers who will address how cultural critics "address an age that is repeatedly depicted as post-soul, post-race, and post-black."

Theater Oobleck remounts its lauded play There Is a Happiness That Morning Is, about two university lecturers who are forced to justify their actions to students after an inappropriate display of affection. Justin Hayford wrote about the original 2011 production, "As in [Mickle] Maher's other plays, the characters here do almost nothing but explain themselves for 90 minutes. But the stasis is breathlessly urgent, as their fates depend on having their explanations understood and accepted."
