Starting this spring (date TBA), the public will be able to reserve times for recording sessions in which one person of a pair interviews the other.
You can come with your mother, your child, your mentor, your neighbor, your lover, your coworker, your long-lost classmate, or even your nemesis—any meaningful pairing. StoryCorps has been doing this since 2003; you can sample the results here.
StoryCorps, which already has permanent booths in Atlanta and San Francisco, will staff the hub, where visitors will also be able to hang out and listen to work from its archive.
And natch, some of the stories will be broadcast on a should-be-nifty new local series that'll air on WBEZ.
All that said, the Cultural Center would still benefit from—and should have—a small but great gift shop.
