Since September, Thrill Jockey Records has been celebrating its 20th anniversary with special shows in Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Baltimore, London, Portland, San Francisco, LA, and San Diego, stacking the lineups with several of the label's younger acts along with a veteran band. The festivities come to a close on Thursday with a final show at the Empty Bottle, where the only younger act is Man Forever, the solo project of Oneida drummer Kid Million. The rest of the lineup features what are probably the imprint's two biggest acts through its history: Tortoise and the Sea and Cake. Those two bands are playing "weird sets," which no one at the label has been able to explain. The show is free with an RSVP here. One of the many TJ bands not playing in Chicago is Baltimore's fantastic Arbouretum, but they did perform at the event in their hometown back in September. Below you can check out video for their live version of "World Split Open," a song that turns up on their excellent new studio album, Coming Out of the Fog, which is due out on January 22.
