Local electronic producer Nick Zanca (aka Mister Lies) has been making plenty of waves online, as have many members of his close circle of friends and colleagues. Zanca is a part of a loose collective of electronic artists led by California producer Svengali, who has released a couple compilations of their work (on a label also called Svengali).

Today's 12 O'Clock Track is Svengali's latest, "Slow."

Among the many great things about the tune is the way Svengali juxtaposes two divergent pitch-shifted vocal samples, placing a sensual, high-pitched cry atop a mellow, syrupy moan—it makes for one hell of a sad, warped R&B jam. Stream it below and check out Svengali Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 via Bandcamp.
