Bistro Campagne honors France's culinary traditions with a Regions of France dinner series; this month's focus is Alsace. Each night in September features a separate menu inspired by Alsatian classics like Riesling-poached perch and sweetbread terrine, accompanied by regional wines and Kronenbourg beer. Amanda Skrip hosts a Natural Foods Boot Camp for those aspiring to refine their eating habits. The three-part series covers the preparation of the fundamental foods in a well-rounded diet: greens, grains, and beans. Ticket includes snacks, food demo and tasting, and recipe packet. The fourth annual Chuck's Fest begins today. The festival includes beer, music, and a menu designed by Chuck's Southern Comforts Café's executive chef Chuck Pine that includes barbeque, Cajun, and Mexican dishes. The beer tent features more than 100 beers, and live entertainment is by Candlebox, Local H, and Ronnie Baker Brooks. Fri 5-11 PM, Sat 11 AM-11 PM, Sun 11 AM-9 PM, Toyota Park, 7000 S. Man's best friend and man's favorite beverage come together in the second annual Pints for Pups at Dunlays on the Square. One ticket gets you unlimited beer, red or white sangria, and/or soda. BYO dogs, who can drink from the Dunlays water chalice on the patio. There are also door prizes and a silent auction; proceeds benefit Logan Square Dog Park. The Hopleaf throws Kegs for Kids, an annual craft beer tasting party that features more than 60 brews, plus wine and Metropolis coffee. Food from local restaurants is served throughout the evening; there's a silent auction too. All proceeds go toward Helen C. Peirce Elementary School. Noon-5 PM, Hopleaf Bar, 5148 N. Bin 36 executive chef Willy Hewitt has invited peers including Red Door's Troy Graves and Bistronomic's Martial Noguier to kick off the first-ever Tomato Fest. Each chef serves up a specialty dish featuring the summer fruit at a walk-around dinner that benefits Growing Power. Wine director Brian Duncan provides pairings.
