Whoa / Music A Vampire Weekend: Photos from day three of the Pitchfork Music Festival

It rained during the first two days of the Pitchfork Music Festival, and fortune frowned on the crowd again during the third and final day by blasting 95-degree weather and transforming Union Park into a giant outdoor sauna. Despite the ongoing risk of dehydration, exhaustion, and other forms of weather-related discomfort, it was the best overall day of the weekend, with many of the finest performances. There was virtually staff-wide praise for Thee Oh Sees' early-afternoon set. The heat made Miles Raymer delirious enough to start tweeting in Emoji. The Men turned into an alt-country band. And before Chief Keef joined him onstage, Araabmuzik "just tore the head off of everyone at the festival," in Raymer's words. "We are all dead now. I'm tweeting from Heaven. The wifi here is great." Oh yeah, and Lady Gaga was there.
