Attendees can enjoy cigars, food, and drinks at the inaugural CigarBQUE, a charitable event hosted by chefs Rick Gresh (David Burke's Primehouse), Cleetus Friedman (City Provisions Deli), and Giuseppe Tentori (Boka, GT Fish & Oyster). Guest chefs include David LeFevre, Jimmy Bannos Sr., Sarah Jordan, Lee Anne Wong, Mike and Patrick Sheerin, Ray Villalobos, Roger Herring, and Willie Wagner. 6-9 PM, Beyond Design, 4515 N. Bar Forza’s Summer Mixology Event features mixologist Walter Bruessard's Mojito Italiano, made with moscato, and Martini Rosso, made with rose essence and ginger liqueur. Chef Mario Giuseppe Mentesana supplies passed small plates and pizzas. 6-8 PM, Bar Forza, 2476 N. Lincoln, 773-248-7888, $25.

At this weekend's 29th annual Long Grove Strawberry Festival, there's live music and booths peddling strawberry doughnuts, smoothies, ice cream, and other berry treats. Tonight 2 Sparrows hosts northern Italian winery Tenuta Santome as a part of its monthly series of wine dinners. Executive chef Gregory Ellis's four-course meal features seared Minnesota whitefish with summer vegetable ragu and lemon aioli, paired with Tenuta Santome’s 2010 chardonnay. Haberdash EDC’s summer chef series showcases Frontier's Brian Jupiter, who'll supply hors d'oeuvres at the boutique today. Noon-2 PM, Haberdash EDC, 611 N. State, 312-646-7870, free.

Today and tomorrow, Lincoln Park's Chicago Summerfest brings local food and drink, vendors, live music, and an area for family activities to the neighborhood. Noon-10 PM, Clark & Armitage, 773-665-4682, $5 suggested donation both days.

At Fear No ART’s live talk show the Dinner Party, host Elysabeth Alfano shares dinner (prepared by Big Jones chef Paul Fehribach) and conversation with Kartemquin Films' Steve James, actor and playwright Regina Taylor, dancer and Be the Groove artistic director Stephanie Paul, and Marco the Poet. Tonight underground supper club Tuesday Night Dinner pops up at Big Bang Pie Shop's new outdoor backyard dining area.
