12 O'Clock Track / Music 12 O'Clock Track: Planning for Burial, "Wearing Sadness and Regret Upon Our Faces"

Lately I've spent many late nights tearing through the back catalog of New Jersey experimental metal project Planning for Burial. That's probably because so many of the band's songs evoke the mysterious serenity of the wee hours—among them today's 12 O'Clock Track, "Wearing Sadness and Regret Upon Our Faces."

For this tune, Planning for Burial sets its guitars to "slowcore," and the heavy, glacial melody is far more restrained than the song's maudlin-sounding title. "Wearing Sadness and Regret Upon Our Faces" is the lead-off song from the band's 2010 debut, Leaving; be sure to check out the rest of that album and the group's entire discography over on Bandcamp.
