I don't like to think I'm becoming one of those irritable old people, but I was struck by two short features in the Sunday Styles section this weekend: A Q&A with 15-year-old Hunger Games actress Isabelle Fuhrman, who burbles about her beauty regimen ("I love vanilla mint!") and offers such timeless shopping advice as "H & M is great for trendy, reasonably priced items," and the "What I Wore" column featuring 12-year-old Kiernan Shipka, who plays Sally Draper on Mad Men. Don't get me wrong—I believe that children are our future—but is the New York Times trying to compete with Teen Vogue? I wasn't aware the kids these days even looked at traditional media. Please let me know—I'll be at home feeding my cats and yelling at kids to get off my lawn.
