The Chicago Botanic Garden is hosting a craft spirits tasting featuring quarter-ounce portions of bourbon, white and rye whiskey, pistachio nut liqueur, scotch, vodka, gin, rum, brandy, and creme brandy liqueur. Death’s Door Spirits, Templeton Rye Spirits, Angel’s Envy, Rhum Clement, Dumante, and Kindred Spirits are represented and will share the ingredients and techniques used in their distillation processes. Roam the gardens and snack on cocktails and small bites (for purchase).

Hoyt's Chicago is marking its first anniversary by offering free specialty cocktail tastings, free Goose Island beer samples from 5 to 8 PM, free passed appetizers from 4:30 to 5:30 PM ($3 after), live music by acoustic artist Nicholas Barron, and prize giveaways including a two-night stay at the Setai Fifth Avenue in New York.
