The 3,000-square-foot watering hole will feature 35 arcade games from the late 70s to mid-90s, including Mario Bros., NBA Jam ("He's on fire!"), Tron, Popeye, and Street Fighter 2. According to co-owner Danny Marks, the games will include "nothing with projectiles", so don't expect any Skee Ball or pop-a-shot, although there will be pinball. Resist the temptation to bring your kids to show them what video games used to be like: it'll be 21+ and loud.
The extensive craft beer list will have strong local ties, and there will be a large selection of bourbons and whiskeys. Marks is a native Chicagoan and former manager of Barcade in Brooklyn, which he notes as an inspiration. As of now there will be no food served.

So it seems like a couple year lag between Brooklyn and Chicago? I think I'm too old for this now even if it's a state of mind. I was too old then. Hehe. But it's a fun hang - games and good beer, get some.
ditto, i played Galaga so much in the game room at a former job that they eventually got rid of the game room and decided it wasn't such a good idea.
Stern Pinball is headquartered in Melrose Park, IL(Chicago burb) and is the only major manufacturer of pinball machines left after extreme market consolidation of the 80 and 90s. Stern has however been thriving these last ten years as they expand their market. Even the Space Jam (Sega) pinball shown above is actually a Stern product.
According to Lance, Brooklyn invented the bar with arcade games in it.
Lance, you snarky weak minded schmuck, pull your head out of your *ss. Brooklyn is f*cking lame, don't compare it to Chicago.
