Young rapper Kembe X and his crew, the Village, are the subject of this week's B Side feature. Born Dikembe Caston, Kembe is a 17-year-old high school dropout with big ambitions, big talents, and his mom's support. Reader contributor Leor Galil profiles the young crew, detailing their triumphs and tragedies. And for Artist on Artist Steve Dawson of locals Dolly Varden has a great conversation with Americana singer-songwriter Joe Henry.

For In Rotation Peter Margasak hands the baton to two employees of Dusty Groove, who share what they've been into lately—and interestingly enough, Yo Gabba Gabba! makes the list. Soundboard previews upcoming shows by Los Campesinos!,the Guilty Pleasures, Cass McCombs, Amen Dunes, Chiddy Bang, Jordan Baskin, Kathleen Edwards, and more. And with spring only a couple of months away, Early Warnings is flooded with tons of warm-weather concerts, including A Place to Bury Strangers, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, M. Ward, St. Vincent, and Behemoth.
