Billing itself as "the single largest literary gathering in North America" (no argument here), the conference features hundreds of events and more than 500 exhibitors. And there will be dozens of related off-site events open to the public.
Margaret Atwood delivers the keynote address, and other featured presenters include such literary luminaries as Bonnie Jo Campbell, Jennifer Egan, Nikky Finney, Aleksandar Hemon, Audrey Niffenegger, Marilynne Robinson, Luis J. Rodriguez, Rebecca Skloot, Jane Smiley, and Irvine Welsh. And that isn't the half of it.
Preregistration runs through January 23 ($155 AWP members, $225 nonmembers). On-site registration opens on February 29 ($190 AWP members, $265 nonmembers) at the Hilton Chicago, 720 S. Michigan.
The AWP book fair is on Saturday, March 3; it's free and open to the public.

Update: AWP just announced on the website that there will be no on-site registration after all:
"At this time, we are announcing that AWP will not hold on-site registration in Chicago. Because of the enormous amount of interest in attending this year’s conference in Chicago, we have decided to close all further attendee registration to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for those who have already registered."
