The station is a project of Jon Cates and Jake Elliott, who operate in the murky fringes of the digital realm—they also run the experimental-music label Southbridge Slow Electronics. The station exists to stream live performances and DJ sets from mostly local artists. Currently the website lists folks like Jason Soliday, Brian Labycz, Julia Miller, Sarah Weis, Lori Felker, and Alex Inglizian among those whose work will be presented, and when there isn't a performance being broadcast the station streams from an open-source archive of numbers stations. Cates tells me that he hopes to have a schedule for the site's programming up by the end of next week.
In my Kelley preview I mentioned that he's performing on WNUR with Olivia Block tonight, but thanks to a live broadcast of a Northwestern University men's basketball game, the show will be recorded tonight, then aired on Saturday afternoon at 4 PM.
