The Chicago Housing Initiative, an alliance of HUD tenants, says it will release data tomorrow showing that the CHA, which has a waiting list of 68,000 families and seniors, also has thousands of empty but habitable public housing units. According to CHI, at the start of this year, CHA "owned and operated" 21,900 units, but was housing only 15,760 families.
CHI wants to know what's up with the other 6,140 units, and wants to meet with interim CHA head Carlos Ponce, to discuss the "growing glut of vacant public housing units." CHI staffer Leah Levinger says the group will release its report at 9:00 AM, September 20, outside a CHA Board meeting at Lathrop Homes, 2915 N. Leavitt.

This is great news!!!!! We don't need any more project people in our area(Bronzeville/kenwood). Trust me when I tell the people who live in these communites are glad the units aren't being used and hope it stays that way.
I appreciate your opinion, but you have to be able to spell "caramel" before we'll consider making you an honorary white person.
Maybe "carmelcutie" is from Carmel, CA - ever think of that? And what's with the slam about being an honorary white person? Bigtime fail, FGFM.
FGFM,
I wish you were posthumously voted an honorary human being.

Mom
James, congrats on making the cover this week! But are you going to refuse to talk to me because I played the race card? What the Capplecard!
FGFM:
Proud to be a homophobe? And what is it you love so much about rapists and murderers?
News flash: FGFM voted #1 Uptown Stalker of the Year!
While he doesn't give a rat's ass about his own neighborhood, FGFM prefers to stalk around in a neighborhood where he hasn't lived for decades.
and so the Uptown stalker, known as FGFM, continues his stalking. His pseudo-liberalism is a line of crap.
