Today Pat Quinn installed a ChargePoint electric-car charging station at the governor's mansion, which brightened the environment's Tuesday very much. A Chicago company called Carbon Day Automotive donated the station, which won't accommodate everyone's special gubernatorial vehicle but will serve Illinois government staff, at least.

The ChargePoint joins rain barrels, solar panels, a community garden full of trans fat free vegetables, and LED lighting in Quinn's collection of eco-friendly home enhancements, says Coulomb Technologies, which made the ChargePoint. Guess he's not Governor Green for nothing. (Rod Blagojevich was also a "Governor Green," but of a different sort.)
