Tonight is the big night for designers Tonya Pierce and Jessica Davis, the final contestants in Kenmore Live Studio's "So You Wanna Be a Designer" series. Whoever is chosen by the viewers and the judges—Chicago fashion designer Elda De La Rosa, NBA Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Simmons (who we're sure knows a lot about fashion), and Raul Penaranda, who has worked for Oscar de la Renta, DKNY, and Tommy Hilfiger—gets $20,000 and a Kenmore Elite laundry pair. It's at 7 PM at the studio, 678 N. Wells,
and you can also vote and watch live on www.facebook.com/kenmore.
Also tonight, from 5 to 8 PM, Bucktown's p45 hosts a "private atelier" for local designer Abigail Glaum-Lathbury, during which you can view spring and summer styles and get fitted for a custom piece—plus, there are cocktails!
From Thursday through Sunday, Roscoe Village's Cinnamon is offering 15 percent off all Blake Standard pieces. Then on Saturday the boutique holds a trunk show of leather handbags from Linea Pelle from 10 AM to 6 PM.
Chicago-based shopping website Twentythirtyforty.net pops up Friday and Saturday with spring and summer women's clothing and accessories at Revision Home, 2132 W. Fulton. Guests can also view Revision Home's vintage furniture and home accessories, plus photography by Erika Dufour and wallpaper and fabrics from Urban Source. It runs from 11 AM to 4 PM both days.
Designer Anne Novotny's Pilsen boutique, Workshop, is hosting a trunk show for local jewelry line Shades of Grey from 6 to 9, where attendees can also enjoy seasonal cocktails. The shop is at 818 W. 18th.
