Remember when you were ten and you liked to draw on your sneakers? Chicago-based company BucketFeet takes that concept to the next level, using actual artists who are much more talented than you.

Founders Aaron Firestein and Raaja Nemani met while volunteering with kids in Buenos Aires; Nemani admired Firestein's customized kicks. They teamed up to create BucketFeet, which gets artists to create illustrations for basic slip-on sneakers and then donates part of the fees to kid-focused nonprofits, including Metropolitan Area Group for Igniting Civilization (MAGIC), a Woodlawn-based organization whose initiatives include a stringed-instrument music program.

The debut collection features Firestein's own designs, with more from artists around the world to come.
