On Thursday, the Fashion Resource Center of the Art Institute of Chicago hosts another installment of the "Behind the Seams" lecture series with museum curator and decorative arts historian Kohle Yohannon, called "Model + Muse: Fashioning the Ideal." It starts at 6 PM at the center, located in room 735 at 36 S. Wabash. Tickets are $35, $25 for SAIC students.

Nick Cave and other local designers, including Annie Novotny of Frei Designs, Katrin Schnabl, and Anke Loh, will offer "accessories for the body"—scarves, bags, gloves, etc—at Body Implement, a shopping event to take place at Cave's Soundsuit Shop, 110 E. 23rd. Gifts can be wrapped in specially designed paper. It opens Friday and runs through Sunday; hours are 10 AM to 5 PM.
Friday evening, longtime Wicker Park boutique Una Mae's celebrates the launch of its online boutique with a party. The store is offering 15 percent off, free beer and cocktails, and DJ sets by Reckless Records employees. The party is from 6 to 9 PM at the store, 1528 N. Also Friday evening, jewelry designer Ellie Thompson holds a party for the launch of her new collection, Theorem.
