Reel Shorts

The Chicago Reel Shorts Film Festival opens with a Fest Preview, including Canadian Dave Baas's 5-minute animated penguin mockumentary Skylight, Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Original Mother's, 26 W. Division St.

The festival continues through Sunday, with dozens of short films grouped into themed programs that include "Relationships Suck" and "Growing Up Sucks." Screenings start at 2:30 p.m. Friday and 12:30 p.m. Saturday, running into the evening, and run from 12:15 into the afternoon Sunday at Columbia College's Film Row Cinema, 1104 S. Wabash Ave.
