Early Warnings Roundup

The upcoming Labor Day weekend means there's not much to report on the Early Warnings front. On-sale announcements are sparse, presumably because venues and promoters assume you'll be busy killing cans of Bud around a campfire out in the sticks while waiting for your next burger to come off the grill (my exact weekend plans, by the way).

"Sparse" isn't the same as "none," though, and even this week's slimmed-down Early Warnings include David Dondero at Schubas, soul master Syl Johnson with a 14-piece band at the Old Town School of Folk Music, fashion-conscious electro-club kids LMFAO at Congress Theater, and hype magnets Sleigh Bells at Metro.

Check out a more comprehensive list after the jump:

David Dondero with the Moaners at Schubas on November 22
Drink Up Buttercup at Subterranean on September 26
Alejandro Escovedo & the Sensitive Boys at Lincoln Hall on October 12 (on sale Friday at noon)
Forgetters at Subterranean on October 12
Syl Johnson at the Old Town School of Folk Music on November 27
LMFAO at Congress Theater on October 31
Eli "Paperboy" Reed at Bottom Lounge on October 17 (on sale Friday at noon)
Sleigh Bells at Metro on October 27 (on sale Saturday at noon)
Max Weinberg Big Band at the Old Town School of Folk Music on October 24

Make sure to visit the Reader's Early Warnings page for a full list of upcoming and updated shows. You can also sign up for a weekly Early Warnings e-mail blast.
