The new Chicago-based website Garmental posts one outfit per day made up entirely of pieces from local designers and shops, giving people a chance to see what's out there without having to get up from the easy chair or decide how to combine various pieces. You can also search for outfits by neighborhood, "style" (such as contemporary, juniors, or vintage), and price range. Practical applications are a bit limited—there's no "buy now" function, and the results that pop up can be from months ago, so items may not be available. However, for inspiration and guidance on how to put an outfit together—as well as to check out what your favorite independent boutiques and designers are carrying—it's definitely worth a look.
