The Sun-Times's Must-Read Homicide Series Continues

Posted by Whet Moser on 07.28.10 at 11:04 AM

Mark J. Konkol and Frank Man are doing a remarkable job detailing the reasons behind the CPD's difficulty in clearing homicides.

And I'd missed this earlier (via Second City Cop):

Police statistics suggest it's getting increasingly dangerous on the street for officers. Nearly 3,160 officers reported they were victims of assault and battery in 2008, almost double the 1,583 officers who said they were attacked in 2003. About 35 percent of those officers in 2008 were injured, according to the department.

I would like to see Konkol and Ko. cover the Blue Code of Silence now that they've written about the 'no-snitch' angle on the West Side. Second City Cop and most of his mouth-breathing commenters defended Jon Burge to the bitter end along with spewing plenty of racial invective.
