Also tonight, local shoe designer Kathryn Kerrigan celebrates the opening of her new Bucktown boutique at 2031 N. Damen. Meet the designer from 5 to 8 PM, and enjoy refreshments all weekend.
On Friday, brides-to-be looking for a sweet deal on a gown should start lining up early at Filene's Basement, 1 N. State, for its annual Running of the Brides, which starts at 8 AM. More than 1,700 dresses are on sale, at prices as low as $249.
There are sidewalk sales this Saturday and Sunday in the West Loop, where participants include Tribeca and 2 Sisters, and Bucktown/Wicker Park, where Robin Richman, Vive la Femme, and Helen Yi are taking part.
In the Southport area, Tula holds an end-of-season sale starting Friday and running all weekend, with discounts of 40 to 70 percent. Down the street, Krista K holds its Shop Around the Clock sale on Saturday: discounts start at 50 percent off at 8 AM and go down every hour until noon, when they hold at 20 percent til the end of the day.
Finally, in Wicker Park, independent designer boutique Habit holds a sale on everything in the store til the end of the month—discounts range from 15 to 50 percent off.
