Food Chain / Food & Drink Don Diablo "remodeling;" fire at Costa's

No sooner did I work my way through the nine tacos at Don Diablo—the former Fonda del Mar, repurposed into a simple taqueria—did they stop answering the phone. l had some terrific tomatillo-based salsa de arbol there, and I was told if I called it in I could put in a bulk order. That's when the voice mail started listing truncated hours during which nobody was answering the phone anyway. Finally word came via the relocated Fonda Del Mar (now on Lincoln Avenue) that Diablo will be closed for several weeks for remodeling.
No mention of that on the Web site, voice mail, or at the restaurant itself.
In other restaurant setbacks: the Trib reports Greektown's Costas is a "complete loss" after a four-alarm fire last night that also damaged Athens Grocery and the Pan Hellenic Pastry Shop. Enter insurance adjusters.
