A Stimulus in the Sense that a Band-Aid Stimulates Not Bleeding to Death

Greg Hinz, "New report puts Illinois $12.8 billion in the red":

This year's budget was balanced with lots of one-time revenues that presumably will not be available next year. Like $2 billion in federal stimulus money.

Which is why this Joe Klein post about the surprising unpopularity of the stimulus is a must-read when other outlets are leg-humping Zombie Reagan.

"What Reagan had that Obama doesn't was a mandate for a clear set of policies: cutting taxes, rebuilding the military and freeing the economy from too much government, which eventually yielded good results."

What were those good results, exactly, Mr, Dold? Middle class wages have been stagnant for almost forty years, and Reagan further weakened unions and ushered in such a severe recession that people have been grateful just to have their shitty jobs ever since. Flooding America with cheap Chinese crap may have fooled people into thinking they were doing OK, but now those chickens are coming home to roost as well. The ignorant racist mobs Reagan mobilized now want to burn Washington down, and I'm tempted to grab a torch and help them.

You and your joke of a newspaper are so hidebound by failed Republican ideology that you belong in the Field Museum. Every time I see your fat smug face on Chicago Tonight, I want to catch you outside of Trib Tower and laugh as you piss your pants with terror at being confronted by one of the working class you and your Republican buddies have sentenced to a life of indentured servitude in order to appease the God of ever-growing corporate profit.

I have just THE MOST wonder-FULL simply great idea, says Henry George's Ghost Who Walk's, Listen's and Read's! Why don't people, instead of voting for the always incessantly, and insouciantly scamming (REALLY, EXTREMELY, dumb and stupid) Democratic and Republican candidates for Governor, (and next year for Mayor of Chicago,), why NOT vote for Mr. David M. MANN and other followers of the great 19th Century economic and social philosopher Henry George! They KNOW HOW to SOLVE ONCE-AND- FOR-ALL, all the present economic and social problems we not only face now, that also includes all our ancestor's from about September 23, 1897, which is when he, Henry George died of an Aploplectic Fit or Brain Hemmorrhage, just a mere two day's or week's away, trying to run for a second (2nd) time for Mayor of New York City. So, what exactly are the two (2) main problems that hang heavily around all our neck's like albatrosse's? 1. Federal Governmental interference (including bad laws and policies, including both infusion or tightening of money and credit, and continuous borrowing & raising the national debt,), and 2.,protection of large land-owner's as well as letting financial scandals happen at our expense, thus NOT ONLY putting us in jeopardy, the Federal big-shots then pass terrible laws that throw a monkey-wrench in the fragile international economy and start both major recessions and depressions, which can last a decade and more, AND thus start major wars! So then! Why NOT elect David M. MANN and other followers of Mr. Henry George! It's much better than electing a stupid Democrat or Republican!

I watched Fox News last night in passing for half a minute and Hannity claimed that the stimulus had done "absolutely nothing," so go figure. R. Bruce Dolt is just another GOP mouthpiece like Sean.
