Tonight Dirty Needles, a craft group for "yarn junkies, needle hoppers, and fabric fiends," holds its free monthly meet-up from 5:30 to 8 PM at the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia). DIY enthusiasts of all levels of knitting, crocheting, and fabric-finangling experience are welcome, and inexperienced crafters will receive instruction. This month, artist Vera Videnovich delivers a brief wool-spinning workshop.

Here's one better than Mark Kirk

The race for Deb Mell's State seat in the 33rd Ward.
Her qualifications... aside from her father.
She's a lesbian activist. Great, we now know her interests and priorities.

The challenger a Joe Laiacona. His main claim, academic and leatherboy.

Case to prove that the machine still runs the County, Chicago, and the 33rd Ward.
The challenger may be on the ballot but the winner is certain.

I'm not sure either represent the majority of this area on the NW side.
