Our sister Washington City Paper has done an incredible job covering the DC snowball fight fight, particularly as compared to the Washington Post, which sat on a breaking eyewitness account from their own editorial aide. But if you really want a good pooch-screwing, you can't beat Fox News (via Tbogg).
The only concrete evidence I've seen of an anti-war protest was a sign reading "No War But Snowball War," which was mentioned in some comment threads.

Absolutely ridiculous. A buddy of mine was holed up in an apartment right next to the snowball fight and said it was nothing more than a bunch of kids involved in a massive, yet harmless, snowball fight. The Fox News clip is the first I've even heard it called an "anti-war protest." Can't a bunch of cooped-up 20 and 30-somethings throw some damn snowballs at each other without it being misconstrued?
I think the idea that it was an antiwar protest came from some DC station and then leapfrogged to Fox (completely circumventing the blogs!), which was obviously destiny.
