Style Couture for the Working Class: Fashion Designers Lend Style to Workers' Uniform

High-end designers choosing to outfit the working folk is hardly a new idea—back in the 60s Pucci and Halston famously took care of uniforms for Braniff airlines.
More recently, Lacroix himself designed uniforms for Air France and Los Angeles designer Richard Tyler lent his talents to Delta Airlines. (They caused a kerfuffle earlier this year when flight attendants filed a grievance with the airline asking it to offer one uniform option, a red wrap dress, up to size 28.) And in November it was reported that United Airlines has hired SAIC grad Cynthia Rowley to revamp its employees' official garb.
If you're a flight attendant, hang on to those old uniforms—they could become collector's items.
