Me and Orson Welles
  • Me and Orson Welles

In this week's issue: my long review of Up in the Air, plus Critic's Choice boxes for the Hollis Frampton program Birth of Magellan, the eco-nightmare documentary Collapse, and Richard Linklater's latest, Me and Orson Welles.

We've also got new reviews for Breaking Point, Invictus, Make No Little Plans: Daniel Burnham and the American City, The New Year Parade, The Princess and the Frog, and Severed Ways: The Norse Discovery of America.

Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention three first-class revivals this week: Buster Keaton's The General at the Gene Siskel Film Center, Douglas Sirk's The Tarnished Angels at Northbrook Public Library, and Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger's The Red Shoes, screening all week at Music Box in a new print.
