Michael Philippi Memorial Set

The Goodman Theatre will host a memorial in honor of lighting and set designer Michael Philippi, who died October 27. The event will feature tributes and a multimedia presentation of his work. It's scheduled for Monday December14, 6:30 PM, at the Goodman, 170 N. Dearborn. Condolences and remembrances can be posted at the Goodman Web site or sent by mail to Goodman Theatre, Attn: Michael Philippi Condolences, 170 N. Dearborn, Chicago, IL 60601.

At the time of his death, Philippi was designing lights for High Holidays by Alan Gross, at the Goodman, where he was a regular. Other Goodman credits include Desire Under the Elms, King Lear, A Life in the Theatre,Pal Joey, and The Goat or, Who is Sylvia? Philippi also designed on Broadway and for regional theaters, internationally at the Abbey, and locally at Northlight, Court, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Remains, Wisdom Bridge, and the Saint Nicholas Theatre Company.
