Style / RE Gift Feather It Up

Feathers are big this season, and I say if you're going to do them you should go all the way. This weekend at Workshop, the Pilsen studio and store of Annie Novotny of Frei Designs, Novotny's super-long feather earring caught my eye, the light reddish-brown feathers almost camouflaged in her hair.

Dramatic and sensual, they could appeal to both the statement-making risk-taker and the neo-hippie, two types that probably don't have much common ground.

They're made by Owlita, aka Ashley Doty of Portland, Oregon. Novotny carries both short and long versions in her store ($68-78).
