Late last night—just one day after orchestra members and the Chicago Federation of Musicians threatened a strike for this weekend—Lyric Opera of Chicago reached a tentative agreement with its musicians. A players' committee spokesman said details of the agreement will be released after orchestra members vote on ratification at 4 PM today (December 4). As we reported in an earlier story about the standoff, the orchestra had been playing without a contract since the season opened.
