The GZA's Continuing Adventures in Fence Hopping

Posted by Miles Raymer on 12.03.09 at 06:03 PM

Surely you remember when the GZA started fucking around with the Black Lips. Recently he's also buddied up with King Khan, which is a real "You got some crazy in my crazy!" kind of situation. Now there's this track, below the jump, that came over my IM transom yesterday: a GZA song remixed by Dan Deacon as a test run for a future collaboration.

The track has an interesting and convoluted history. It began as a smooth slice of vocoder funk by Salvador Santana, next it was remixed by indie/rap mashup kings the Hood Internet and the GZA, and then Deacon got his hands on it.
