Bicycling Chicago Bike Parking Locator

The excellent bike blog Cyclelicious notes that the Chicago Department of Transportation has created a bike rack locator that can be sorted by ZIP code, community area, ward, or proximity to a train station (both CTA and Metra). I've never had too much trouble finding a place to park my bike since I'm happy to lock it to a signpost or anything else that's handy, but it's always nice when a rack is available. And it's kind of fun to click through the different wards and see how radically the number of racks varies among different areas, from more than 200 in the first ward to less than 20 in many areas further from downtown, like the 17th and 50th wards. Maybe the nicest feature of the site, though, is that you can request a rack at a certain location—and if you're wondering how the installation process works, there's an FAQ section.
