Events: Sales, trunk shows, and more

Local designer Lara MIller holds a trunk show of her fall and holiday collections tonight from 6 to 9 at Pivot. It'll be one of the store's last events.The party also marks the launch of Make a Fashion Statement, owner Jessa Brinkmeyer's campaign to promote environmentally sustainable clothing.

Thursday's a big night for fashion events. Here are a few more.

From noon to 8 PM, Sofia Vintage holds a trunk show for Majestic Clothing a line of basics like sweaters, tank, and leggings in cashmere and other luxurious fabrics. They'll be 15 percent off during the show.

And something for the men for a change: Tom Julian, the author of the Nordstrom Guide to Men's Style, will be on hand at the department store's downtown location from 6 to 8 PM for a presentation of fall looks from Canali, Diesel, Hugo Boss, and other brands. Also downtown, Samantha Chicago hosts a trunk show for Genetic Denim from 4 to 8—get 20 percent off and a gift with your purchase.

In the West Loop, bridal designer Jenny Yoo holds a soiree from 6 to 8 at Lumen to present her collection of bridesmaids' dresses and "alternative" bridal gowns.

Finally, Lincoln Square's the Dressing Room is offering 20 percent off all autumn sweaters through October.
