Posted by Alex Yablon on 09.18.09 at 12:42 PM

University of Chicago grad student Paul Durica provides an antidote to the standard campus tour with a University of Chicago installation of his Pocket Guide to Hell tour series, hosted by the Hyde Park Historical Society this Sunday at 2:15 PM.

Durica's tour of the "Grey City" starts at the front entrance to the Reynolds Club (57th and University) and focuses on the history of the U of C up to the 1920s, including the collapse of historic Harper Memorial Tower, the rifle garrison once housed in Bartlett cafeteria, and the separation of male and female students. Space is limited; call 773-241-7141 to reserve a spot.
