Between songs at last night's free Shellac show in Millennium Park, Steve Albini shouted, "Sweet baby Jesus—put some real grown-up pants on! Not cargo pants—real pants!"
Not sure if he was looking at one audience member in particular or just responding to the crowd as a whole, but it's good advice for all occasions.

Albini, who has never worn anything but a pair of jeans and some rock band t-shirt, should not be doling out fashion advice. Especially when Bob Weston is wearing corduroys in August, and Todd Trainer basically shops in the girls section at Forever 21. Shellac always, for some reason, chews out people in the audience for what they are wearing. I remember a festival on Lincoln Ave in the summertime many, many years ago where they were admonishing anyone wearing sandals or flip-flops. Also in defense of cargo pants, as a dad with 2 kids, 2 extra pockets are very convenient when you need to have your keys, wallet, a pacifier, a bottle, etc.
