Marcus Sakey at Sheffield's

Posted by Whet Moser on 08.06.09 at 06:14 PM

Local crime novelist Marcus Sakey hosts a launch party at Sheffield's (3258 N. Sheffield) for his new novel: "In his latest execution of the formula, The Amateurs (Dutton)--set against the backdrop of the corporate scandals of the late Bush years--four friends on Chicago's north side conspire to commit the seemingly perfect crime, where the only victim embodies all that they despise." Free drinks are promised.

In other local crime-fic news, can I just say how stoked I am that Theresa Schwegel's latest - also a Critic's Choice - has a TIF subplot?
