Today in notable photographs

* Megan Cottrell's outstanding Chicago Now blog One Story Up has a good interview with David Schalliol, aka metroblossom, aka one of my favorite local photographers. His Isolated Buildings Studies series is incredibly beautiful, quite simply one of my favorite photographic projects ever.

* In a post entitled "Civic Nihilism: This is your Olympics," Lynn Becker mourns the Hideo Sasaki landscaping that's getting torn up as part of the destruction of the Michael Reese campus. More photos here; more on Sasaki here.

* Do take a look at Catherine Edelman Gallery's Chicago Project; James Rotz's Northwest Indiana photography is amazing, as are Daniel Shea's photographs from Appalachia.
